Mount Waverley is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Mount Waverley, on the Glen Waverley railway line. Mount Waverley is classed as a Premium Station and is in Metcard Zone 2.

Mount Waverley is located at the western end of the Stephensons Road road overpass and between Miller Cresent and Hamilton Place, all providing station access.

The station consists of two side platforms; Platform 1 has a large brick building housing an enclosed waiting area, ticket facilities and toilets, while platform 2 has a smaller brick building. A large Metcard ticket vending machine is located inside the waiting area, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins, with additional coin-only Metcard ticket vending machines situated in the waiting area and at the entrance to platform 2. Myki ticket vending machines are located inside the waiting room on platform 1, and at the entrance to platform 2.

History

Mount Waverley station opened on 5 May 1930, along with the railway line between East Malvern and Glen Waverley.[1] The station buildings was reconstructed in 1975.[2] It was upgraded to a Premium Station on 18 January 1995,[3] the first Premium Station in Melbourne.
